The Spirit light weight endurance saddle
* lightweight composite material (not fiberglass), with
a metal head iron underneath the pommel for reinforcement.
*All Sommer saddles use a V girthing system- very comfortable for the
horse.
*The tree is flexible, and will move with the movement of the horse.
*The tree gullet width is adjustable.
*
Underneath the tree are english style flocked panels that can be adjusted
the same way an english saddle would be adjusted- by adding or removing
flocking.
* The
tree will work with any size horse, and is 21" long. It
is especially good for the short backed horse or gaited horses.
* the seat can be ordered with regular padding, or extra padding.
The seat has a medium twist.
The seat on the spirit is extremely
comfortable- the tree is a sling design and the seat padding is made
of memory foam.

** SEAT SIZING. the trail saddles are measured like an english saddle, from the "button" just below the pommel, to the middle back edge of the cantle.
The regular seat padding that is used on the Spirit uses a 1/2" layer of memory foam. It is
quite comfortable, and most people find it to be the most comfortable seat they have ever experienced.
As an option, Sommer does offer a thicker layer of memory foam padding- its about 3/4 inch thick, and makes the seat very soft. This does however make the seat fit one size smaller. If you are interested in this seat type, just keep in mind that you will need to order one size larger seat to accomodate the extra padding. |
