The Ranger, the Marakesh, the Oakfield english and western, and the Spirit, all use the same adjustable tree.
* It is a lightweight composite material (not fiberglass), and has a metal head iron underneath the pommel for reinforcement.
*All Sommer saddles use a V girthing system- very comfortable for the horse.
*The tree is flexible, and will move with the movement of the horse.
*The tree gullet is adjustable

Underneath the tree are english style stuffed panels that can be adjusted the same way an english saddle would be adjusted- by adding or removing stuffing.

the trees come in 2 lengths- Regular and Compact.The compact tree is approx. 1.5 inches shorter than the regular tree and will work with any size horse, and if you have a small or short bodied horse like an Arab, we recommend the compact length. Either size tree can accomodate the 17.5 seat.

The seat on both the Ranger and the Marakesh is extremely comfortable- the tree is a sling design and the seat padding is made of memory foam. It is the most comfortable seat I have ever used, and the only other saddle Ive ridden that even comes close in rider comfort would be the Tucker gel seat- but this saddle is much lighter than the Tucker, weighing in at 20 pounds.
