• Why are Sommer Saddles different?
  

Every saddle that Sommer produces has an ADJUSTABLE TREE. The trail saddles, the jumping saddles, and the dressage saddles are ALL adjustable to fit your horses measurements.
If your horses back changes shape or you start riding a different horse, the tree and the flocking inside the panels can be adjusted to fit that new horse.
How is the tree adjusted?
The saddle's gullet is adjusted by placing the saddle into an adjustment machine that is here at Performance Tack. It is possible for your saddle gullet to be adjusted if you ship it to us.
In addition to adjusting the gullet width, we are trained here at Performance Tack to adjust the flocking inside the panels, to improve the saddles fit to your horse. We do this either by personally taking measurements of your horses back with a Sommer fitting tool, or you can also take your saddle to any local saddle fitter and they can adjust the flocking just like they would with any standard english saddle.

All Sommer saddles have a high tech, light weight, composite material polymer tree that flexes with the movement of your horse. This material is extremely strong, allowing the proper flex, but it will not break or get brittle with age. These are not "treeless" saddles, or "flex tree" saddles. The tree design is unique to Sommer, and has been used by them for more than 30 years.

The seats on all Sommer trail saddles are incredibly comfortable. No more hard seats on those long rides! Sommer uses an ergonomic seat design and memory foam - a high tech, lightweight but soft foam.

ALL Sommer Saddles are 100 % made in Germany by highly trained leather craftsmen. The quality is exceptional.
